Your July Pop Culture Heads-up!

Updated: Jul 11

Welcome to July! After the absolute chaos of last month seriously, did anyone else feel like there were eleven different events happening on the same day? It's time to breathe. This month isn't about rushing from one thing to the next; it's about picking a few great experiences and truly enjoying them.

Think of this as your curated heads-up to planning some seriously cool weekends, date nights, or just a well-deserved solo outing. Here’s what’s on our radar!

Cute characters around "HoYo FEST" sign, with balloons and a Ferris wheel in the background. Event details: 7/25-7/27, 10:00-20:00, Singapore.

The Ultimate Weekend Pilgrimage

The Plan:

Dedicate a weekend to the biggest community gathering of the year for fans of Genshin Impact, Honkai: Star Rail, and the entire HoYoverse.

When & Where:

July 25th - 27th at Suntec Convention Centre Hall, 406CXD

Why it's the plan:

If you're in the fandom, this is your Super Bowl.

It’s less of an event and more of a pilgrimage to be with your people. This year, they're finally adding an Artist Alley, so you can support fan creators directly.

Our honest advice? If your time is limited, the Fast Pass (S$48) is the only way to go. It lets you skip the worst of the queues and actually enjoy your day.

Perfect for:

The all-in fan. Go with your friends, go in cosplay, and plan to spend the day completely immersed. Just book your tickets now before they're gone.

The "Let's Do Something Different" Date Night

The Plan:

A vibrant music and arts festival with a fantastic atmosphere for a weekend evening out.

When & Where:

July 4th - 6th at the incredibly surreal Haw par villa.

Why it's a great date idea:

Swap the usual dinner-and-a-movie for this.

You've got great music from artists like K-Pop star Hwasa, a unique and almost fantastical venue, and a ton of cool art installations to explore.

It’s the kind of experience that creates real memories.

You don't need to be a die-hard music fan to appreciate the amazing vibe and a setting that’s anything but boring.

Perfect for:

A date night or a group hang that breaks the routine. It’s impressive, fun, and shows you know what’s cool beyond the convention scene.

The Sophisticated Evening Out

The Plan:

A classy, relaxed evening listening to iconic anime themes performed by a live string quartet.

When & Where:

Thursday, July 24th, at the beautiful CHIJMES Hall.

Why it's a perfect wind-down:

Happening at our favourite hangout spot, Imagine the powerful scores of your favourite anime, but instead of epic battles, they're surrounded by the soft glow of thousands of candles.

This is the ultimate way to appreciate the artistry of anime music.

It’s a quiet, intimate setting that feels a world away from the hustle of daily life.

Perfect for:

A truly special date night or a solo treat when you need to de-stress.

It’s a chance to connect with your fandom in a totally new, sophisticated way.

Alternatively if you are into Retro music or live band performances in a bar setting, head down to Simply Retro (also in Chimes) to watch our Favourite local band SHAGIES you can check out their Instagram for more details! [pst- if they are open for song request, be sure to request Bohemian Rhapsody - Queen ]

The Brand New Weekend Detour

'Love and Deepspace' Pop-Up Event

The Plan:

Enjoy a limited-time immersive pop-up for fans of the popular romance game.

When & Where:

Weekends (Fri-Sun) 11am to 7pm from July 18th - 31st at ave8, Resorts World Sentosa.

Why it's worth the trip:

Attention, Hunters! While we've seen our boys on billboards before, this is Singapore's first official immersive pop-up event for Love and Deepspace, and it looks set to be a major draw for the otome community.

Expect life-sized standees of Xavier, Zayne, and Rafayel for prime photo ops, themed decorations, and a chance to win exclusive merch. This is one exclusive pop-up event you cannot miss!

The catch? It's only open on weekends for two weeks, so you'll need to plan this one.

Perfect for:

A dedicated weekend mission for Love and Deepspace players.

Grab your fellow fans, plan your RWS trip, and get ready to immerse yourself in the world of the game.

That's not all! In the month of September look forward to Otomefes by RootProductions happening on 20th September. From now till 31st August you can submit your 'Husband' introduction to them for a chance to be selected and showcased during Otomefes!
Anime-themed pop-up store with colorful "One Piece" banner in foreground. People inside browse merchandise and character art lines the walls.

The Casual Collector's Stop

The Plan:

A low-key stop for official Shonen Jump merchandise while you're out and about.

When & Where:

Running daily until August 31st at Jewel Changi Airport.

Why it's on the list:

While not a flashy event, it's a reliable spot for any manga fan. If you find yourself at Jewel for a meal or a movie, this is an easy and fun detour.

It’s a great place to browse for that perfect keychain or acrylic stand from Jujutsu Kaisen or One Piece without the pressure of a convention.

Perfect for:

A casual weekend activity.

Don't make a special trip unless you're hunting for a specific item, but definitely drop in if you're in the area.
